£44,502 -52,760 per annum (raising to £44,752- £53,157 on 1 March 2025)

Please note that we normally appoint at the bottom of the salary range.

ABOUT US AND THE TEAM 

The University of Sunderland in London, based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond!

We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours per week over 4 days with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.

In addition, in early 2025 we will be moving to a new, modern campus building adjacent to our current location offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

In this role, you will support International students on the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) University courses as well as teaching activities on the In- sessional, Pre-sessional Programmes, English language testing and study skills embedded courses to the wider student body. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will contribute to the enhancement of quality in teaching and the development of academic programmes and teaching practices.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience of teaching pre-sessional, in-sessional programmes and study skills sessions within higher education. You will also have subject specific experience in  English for Academic purposes and/or English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and/or English as a Foreign Language (EFL).  You will need to have proven experience of working and teaching in a multi-national and multi-cultural environment and a commitment to ensuring student achievement and excellent student experience.
