£44,502 -52,760 per annum (raising to £44,752- £53,157 on 1 March 2025)

ABOUT US AND THE TEAM
The University of Sunderland in London, based at Canary Wharf, boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2025 and beyond!
We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.
In addition, in early 2025 we will be moving to a new, modern campus building adjacent to our current location offering a bright and spacious learning and working environment.
ABOUT THE ROLE
It is an exciting time to join us as we have just launched a new course in Fintech and Trading. You will be equipping our students to become skilled managers and practitioners in the financial services industry and developing their expertise in practical trading systems and emerging financial technologies, such as blockchain, AI, and machine learning. A key feature on our programme is the “Trading Room” environment, where you’ll use the London Stock Exchange (LSEG) Workspace to teach students how to analyse actual market data like a financial trader.
To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience teaching in Higher Education, as well as specific experience teaching Finance Technology subjects (please see role profile for more details). You will need to be committed and able to provide a high-quality teaching and learning experience for all students. In addition, strong teamwork, collaboration, organisational skills are a must. Certifications from professional bodies relevant to Financial Technology bodies and recent experience in industry/ professional practice would be considered valuable to this role.
