Pre-registration programmes in Allied Health are an exciting and expanding subject area in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing at the University of Sunderland.

A multi-million new investment in state-of-the-art facilities and equipment alongside high quality teaching and the success of our other healthcare programmes in paramedic science and nursing, positions the Faculty for the successful delivery of our pre-registration programme in Physiotherapy. The Faculty is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and student-centred cardiorespiratory physiotherapist, with substantial teaching and learning experience in Higher Education, who will deliver an outstanding student experience for our undergraduate pre-registration BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme.

The University offers academic and professional development opportunities and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification leading to HEA accreditation for those not holding a teaching qualification.

The role holder is required to have both academic and professional experience in acute physiotherapy practice which may include elderly, paediatrics, post-surgical or cardiorespiratory specialisms. Possess an excellent understanding of physiotherapy practice, research and evidence-informed practicea with a clear vision for research and knowledge-exchange activities, as well as a commitment towards employability and continued professional development. Experience coordinating placements, including elective and role emerging placements would be welcomed.
