The Graduate Internship Scheme is a collaboration between the University of Sunderland, a recent Graduate and a regional SME. The Scheme has been designed to benefit both the Graduate and the company, ensuring that the Graduate takes the first steps on the career ladder whilst the company benefits from the Graduates enthusiasm, expertise and up to date knowledge.  


The Internship is a full time position, for a 12 month fixed term period.

The Organisation:

Dontyne systems has provided the Gear Production Suite application for use in designing and manufacturing gearboxes in the mechanical power transmission industry since 2006. We have over 180 customers worldwide in 17 countries, with biggest markets in USA and Japan. We also supply custom software to various Tier 1 companies such as Renishaw plc. 

The Role:

Dontyne is a small company with a big future. A unique innovative software platform which has been developed in house has caught the eye of some big world leading PLC brands within the automotive industry and Dontyne are looking to employ a keen, ambitious and talented developer to help modernise and rationalise their current software solutions which would in turn contribute to their future expansion plans. This role provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to work with some level of autonomy and flexibility within the company and to contribute innovative ideas such as the possibility of how their software product could be rolled out in web-form online and potentially via mobile app. However, the main requirement of the successful candidate will be breathe new life into the interface of their current system. The successful candidate will also be expected to present their work to management and customers for review and assist with promotional documentation and contribute in exhibitions across the globe, therefore, the successful candidate will be expected to travel internationally on some occasions with the company.
