An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry to assist in the further development of our vision for teaching, research and external engagement in the pharmaceutical sciences and related areas.

With more than 70 academic staff encompassing pharmacy, nursing, community and public health, psychology and biomedical, pharmaceutical, sport and environmental sciences, this Faculty is the largest in the University. The Sciences Complex, featuring leading edge laboratory, clinical and CPD resources, offers a superb learning environment for students and a setting for enhanced engagement with professional, NHS and industrial partners. Work is complete on a redevelopment of the Sciences Complex to offer the The Living Lab, a unique, purpose-built environment reflecting the various settings of integrated care provision, including mock hospital ward, pharmacy dispensary, consultation and examination rooms, hi-fidelity simulation suite and Point of Care Centre.

You will be joining an academic team that embraces innovation, and aspires to be forward thinking in their approach to integrated science and healthcare education. You will contribute to the provision of excellent academic practice within the Faculty by making a balanced contribution across all areas of academic activity, underpinned and supported by the highest standards of pedagogic practice. You will contribute to teaching and learning, administration and management of programme portfolio, research development and scholarship within the Faculty and also take a role to establish and maintain strong working relationships with external partners to support and deliver reach-out and research programmes. You will be expected to pursue independent research, develop collaborations within the University and the wider academic and industrial community, disseminate research findings and attract research income.

To be considered for this post you should be a graduate in chemistry, pharmacy or a related discipline, hold a Doctoral qualification or equivalent and have specialist knowledge and demonstrable experience of working in a relevant field of medicinal, pharmaceutical and/or analytical chemistry. A demonstrable track record of excellence in teaching and learning and research, including publication in peer-reviewed journals, is essential.
