We are seeking to appoint a permanent part-time administrative assistant within our HR team. 

Reporting to the Deputy Director of HR, you will provide confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Deputy Director and senior management team in HR, as well as undertaking wider departmental HR administration.

Applicants should have excellent administrative skills with the ability to produce written correspondence to a high standard, supporting a range of cross department tasks including project and policy work.

You should also have a high level of knowledge and experience of the use of IT systems including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Key tasks will include administrative support for meetings, preparation of documents, minute taking, processing of financial and budgetary activities, booking travel, processing expenses and maintaining confidential filing and archive systems.

The successful applicant should be an effective communicator who is able to build relationships and liaise with a range of colleagues across the university, including senior managers and external contacts.

You will be comfortable with working on your own initiative, able to organise and plan workloads and make sensible decisions about priorities and deadlines. Teamwork is critical to this role and you will be someone who enjoys working with and supporting others to complete tasks.

This position is based in the City campus which is ideally situated for both bus and metro links.  The University also has a number of car parks available to staff, with permits available for reduced parking rates.  Other benefits you will receive working here at the University, include but are not limited to, a generous annual leave package which comprises of  your standard annual leave entitlement, bank holidays, plus additional University closure days.  Within this role you will receive 39 days pro rata.
