As Electrical Support Officer you will be responsible for delivering a range of general and specialist electrical maintenance projects via directly employed and/or contracted labour and tendered contracts.  The role will also be responsible for providing electrical technical and managerial assistance ensuring that all University electrical systems and assets are fit for purpose. You will also provide advice and guidance in relation to the University's asset replacement programme.

Reporting to the Estates Planning & Development Manager, you will be lead officer relating to all University electrical infrastructure/systems.  You will be expected to lead and co-ordinate small project teams and external contractors and respond promptly and proactively to queries and requests.

In relation to all electrical services/systems and equipment, you will support minor works through to construction projects and will undertake the role of clerk of works, supporting soft landings.                                                                                                                            

The successful applicant should have a minimum of 3 years experience overseeing the maintenance of plant, services and equipment via in-house or contract within highly serviced buildings.  Experience of using AutoCAD is also essential.  Completion of an approved and recognised trade apprenticeship and completion of an HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional experience is required for this post.

A health & safety qualification would be advantageous.
