About the Role
The University are seeking to appoint a Financial Accountant as part of the Finance and Planning Department’s Management Team that will deliver a high quality, customer focussed finance service that is integral to supporting the University in delivering its strategic priorities.
The Financial Accountant role will lead the coordination of the people and processes involved in the annual production of the statutory accounts and financial statements, providing detailed technical analysis and advice on tax, treasury management, cashflow and capital forecasting, and be a key point of contact across a range of external service providers, including the University’s bankers and internal and external auditors. The role will report into the Financial Controller and be responsible for the leadership and management of the Financial Accounts team.

About You
The post holder will be a full member of one of the main professional accounting bodies and have excellent technical and financial accounting skills and an in depth knowledge of current accounting standards and regulations. You will have experience of working in finance roles in, and with, large and complex organisations. You will have experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and a commitment to supporting the development of a high quality finance function that is recognised as expert and highly valued across the University.
