About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of our International Initial Teacher Training Distance Learning provision in the vibrant School of Education at The University of Sunderland and to contribute to the promotion of teaching, research, and reach-out activities across the faculty. You will join our creative team of teacher educators and contribute to our thriving partnership with education settings across the world.
The University of Sunderland is a nationally and internationally recognised for the calibre of our International Initial Teacher Training. Programmes encompass, PGCE Education in primary and secondary and include all subject specialist areas as well as the PGCE Early Years Teaching, the PG Certificate SENCO and PG Certificate SEND Leading Practice and Provision. In addition, we offer the internationally recognised PHCE iQTS Primary and Secondary programmes.
What you can bring
The programmes are led by staff who combine research and a profession facing emphasis. The post holders will contribute to our recruitment and retention strategies and will bring experience and knowledge related to the Education discipline. The post holders will contribute to our work in international teacher training and will support employability strategies pertaining to postgraduate study. Experience of online teaching and familiarity with online pedagogy will support this role. The ability to work with students across the globe in a supportive and developmental way through utilization of available technology would be advantageous.
You will work within our IITT Education team across a range of Distance Learning (DL) modules, contribute to the wider developments of your specialist area/s and engage in online student support. Contributing to subject teaching and curriculum development of designated areas is integral to the role. The ability to provide support through use of a range of technologies is highly advantageous in this sector.
