Salary Range: £55,557 to £60,366

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced NMC-registered nurse and academic leader to join the University of Sunderland in London as a Senior Lecturer / Programme Manager (MNursing). 

This role combines programme leadership, teaching excellence, and operational management, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, NMC-approved nursing programme. You will lead a multidisciplinary academic team, drive student success, and contribute to continuous curriculum enhancement in a non‑traditional, fast‑paced higher education environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational and academic delivery of the MNursing programme. 
  • Design, review, and enhance curriculum aligned to NMC and academic standards. Provide academic leadership and line management, manage programme team performance, workload allocation, and staff development. 
  • Deliver high-quality teaching on MNursing programme across face-to-face and online environments.
  • Support student progression, retention, and attainment. 
  • Participate in quality assurance and academic governance activities. 

Essential Requirements

  • Registered NMC Nurse 
  • Degree in Nursing or a related subject.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area and Higher Education teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE).
  • Significant teaching experience in higher education (online and face-to-face). 
  • Experience working with NMC-approved programmes. 
  • Proven experience in programme leadership within HE. 
  • Experience of leading teams and line management responsibilities.
  • Experience teaching in multi-cultural and international environments.
  • Strong subject expertise in nursing and curriculum development.
