The role of Residential Assistant is a salaried, fixed term, part-time-term-time residential position, offering out of office hour’s support and guidance to students and guests living in University student accommodation. We are seeking students to become RA's who have experience of living in Halls themselves.

RA's are trained to provide advice and support to students and to contribute to the smooth running of the student community. This includes organising social events, attending open days and being involved in supporting the University sustainability campaigns. The primary role is pastoral care, in providing the student with someone to talk to regarding a problem. The RA’s also signpost students on to other University support staff: health advisors, counselling, and financial support along with the Student Union range of services.

RA's are also responsible to support fire safety, responding to emergencies and maintaining good order in the Halls. For example: observing, correcting, recording and reporting breaches in fire regulations, health and safety regulations, the accommodation handbook and reporting of defect’s/repairs out of office hour’s support and guidance to students living in the halls of residence.

When completing your application form please can you include a covering letter stating the following information Student number (nine digit), present study year, end date of present course and advise of future academic plans if applicable and if you are under or post graduate.
