The University of Sunderland Law School is small and vibrant, with over 300 students studying our on-campus undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and an emerging transnational education portfolio. We offer a supportive and friendly environment for our staff and students alike; working in and amongst our students with an open-door policy, we pride ourselves on offering an unrivaled level of personal and pastoral support to our students.
The mainstay of our offering is our LLB, which was refreshed in 2020, and provides a future focused Law degree, which embeds a strong vocational and academic ethos. This programme is complemented by a suite of traditional LLM degrees which were joined in 2016 by our LLM Legal Practice LPC. Sunderland Student Law Clinic opened in 2013 and is now a full-service clinic accommodating 7 solicitors and 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students who offer advice and assistance to clients each year.
In addition to the dedicated suite of offices and our law clinic, Sunderland Law School students benefit from a bespoke mock court room and law library alongside a range of classroom environments which facilitate a mix of lectures, seminars and practical workshops.
We are looking to recruit a team leader/principal lecturer with experience of providing effective academic leadership, a track record in the developing of peer-reviewed work and designing academic programmes in line with best practice in pedagogical research. You will hold or be nearing completion of your PhD in Law (viva within 6 months) and have the ability to manage and motivate staff.
Interviews will be held w/c 15th August 2022.
