The Graduate Internship Scheme is a collaboration between the University of Sunderland, a recent Graduate and a regional SME. The Scheme has been designed to benefit both the Graduate and the company, ensuring that the Graduate takes the first steps on the career ladder whilst the company benefits from the Graduates enthusiasm, expertise and up to date knowledge.  



The Internship is a full time position.


The Organisation:

Cerres is a systems development consultancy, delivering bespoke software and integration services to European blue chip clients. With over twenty years development experience using the Oracle tool-set on a variety of platforms we have a track record of successful delivery of innovative, high-quality systems on time and within budget. 

Cerres senior staff have a background in large-scale IT systems development. The company was formed in 1994 with the aim of providing the quality required in that environment with the commitment, flexibility and drive that a small independent team can deliver. 


The Role:

The software development role involves : 

  • The analysis of requirements for feasibility of software solutions; 
  • Proposal of User Interface layouts and data storage designs; 
  • Implementation of agreed proposals using specific software tools and utilities; 
  • Use of modern web client tools utilising Javascript; 
  • Development of business rules in Database Definition Language and Data Manipulation Language 
  • Evaluating and testing implemented solutions; 
  • Documenting solutions and producing user-oriented descriptions and training materials; 
  • Communication with customers for both requirements capture, and ongoing support.
