The Organisation:

The David Puttnam Media Centre is home to the University of Sunderland’s highly-rated media courses as well as some of the best production facilities in the region. 

Main Purpose of Role:

  • Create content for Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries social media channels celebrating the vibrant student experience in our subjects
  • Maintaining up-to-date FACI social channels, primarily our Instagram presence which is a key student recruitment tool
  • Drive engagement with FACI social channels by interacting with relevant organisations

Special Circumstances:

Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK for the length of the contract.

Qualifications and Professional Memberships:

•             A degree level qualification obtained from the University of Sunderland

Key Knowledge and Expertise:

•             Understanding of social media platforms

•             Understanding of audience engagement strategies

•             Knowledge of relevant content creation software

Experience:

             Creating social media content as a student, volunteer or in a professional capacity

Competencies:

•             Ability to communicate effectively in both a written and verbal format

•             Ability to listen and interpret information

•             Ability to resolve problems and provide solutions

•             Ability to work within a team environment and also work independently

•             Ability to use a wide variety of IT packages including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point

Desirable:

•             Experience of managing a channel, including scheduling content, as a student, volunteer or in a professional capacity

•             A track record of growing online audiences for social channels through non-paid methods
