In this role you will provide manage and deliver a professional, specialist advice, guidance, and support service to all students with a focus on those with a pre-existing disability, long term physical or mental health conditions, Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASCs). You will be a key member of the wider Services for Students team, working collaboratively as part of an integrated service to deliver a high-quality student experience and will work closely with the Head and Assistant Head of Service for Students in the continuous review and development of service.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working within a disabilities service supporting students or service users with disabilities, including caseload management. Specifically we are looking for someone who has experience providing specialist support to service users with a disability, long term physical or mental health conditions including Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASCs).You will have knowledge of relevant best practice, legislation as well as knowledge of the Disabled Students’ Allowance or comparable funding, and experience of supporting students/service users with the application process. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm and have empathy when dealing with high risk students.
