An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Academic Registry’s Placement Support team for a full-time Placement Support Co-ordinator. Based on our Sunderland Campus, you will support the University's academic placement provision, with particular focus on our MBChB Medicine programme.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and efficient individual to provide a professional support service to members of University staff at all levels, working with colleagues in the Academic Registry, services beyond it and external partners to provide work-based placements for our students. As a Placement Support Co-ordinator you will have a Foundation Degree or HND, with Maths and English at GCSE grade C or equivalent.

You will have proven experience of working in a customer-focused environment, demonstrating the ability to plan effectively with excellent organisational skills. Having strong attention to detail, you will also be able to deal with a variety of difficult situations, including complex and wide-ranging enquiries.

Your user expertise in IT systems will be extensive and include experience of Microsoft Office, web-based systems and databases. You must have strong team-working skills, be confident taking initiative within agreed parameters but also have the judgment to know when to escalate problems. You will be able to develop and enhance systems and processes and be confident handling data.

You will also have experience of co-ordinating other staff to achieve goals, whilst providing support to more senior staff.
