We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant with excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team, which provides technical financial accounting and tax advice to wider University.
The Finance Department aims to provide, in a cost efficient, professional and timely manner, services that allow the University to meet its statutory financial obligations and internal financial management objectives. Our financial year is from 1st August to 31st July and we operate a large group with several overseas subsidiaries, which offers a diverse range of challenges and opportunities to develop new skills.
We offer a competitive salary and annual leave entitlement and generous pension package.
The ideal candidate for the role would have:
- Significant technical accounting knowledge and experience of reporting and preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
- Strong experience of implementing and maintaining financial control procedures, including those relating to cash flow and tax compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and team management skills, with the ability to lead a team to meet tight deadlines, whilst communicating effectively with the wider department and University.
