As Clinic Director the post holder will have a key role in the development of the Law Clinic provision within the Law School.

The Law Clinic Director will oversee the development and operation of the Clinic and of the School’s clinical and pro bono offerings building relationships with firms, chambers and industry and community stakeholders. The post-holder will help to develop a vibrant Law Clinic, working closely with the Law School Team Leader and School’s senior leadership.

The post holder will work to increase the number of students able to participate in clinical and pro bono opportunities and will be expected to teach on the LPC course as well as develop and deliver training for all students volunteering in the clinic.

Excellent project management skills and the ability to make and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders are required and seen as essential for this role.

This is a hands-on role and for the right candidate will provide a fantastic opportunity to support the development of students as professionals as well as enhancing the provision within University of Sunderland Law School.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Previous experience in a Law Clinic or similar environment working with students
  • Willingness to engage with Legal services and other sectors
  • Knowledge of changes within Legal Education ie SQE
