The Graduate Internship Scheme is a collaboration between the University of Sunderland, a recent Graduate and a regional SME. The Scheme has been designed to benefit both the Graduate and the company, ensuring that the Graduate takes the first steps on the career ladder whilst the company benefits from the Graduates enthusiasm, expertise and up to date knowledge.  


The Internship is a full time position, for a 12 month fixed term period.

The Role:

We are looking for a designer to bring to the team: 

An understanding of front end development concepts with an ability to work with our in house development team.

  • Understanding of how to use prototype and wire framing tools and review/amend these in line with internal and external feedback and testing.
  • Ability to handover designs to the in house development team to fully implement with clear guidelines instructions for them to do so (we want designs to be production ready).
  • Support us in creating, development and enhancing our UX guidelines, to ensure they are consistently implemented across all our digital solutions. A strong knowledge of currently UX and design trends is essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, ln Design and Wireframing software (i.e. Axure)
  • Highly organised approach in all they do with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and share ideas with the wider project, and development team.
  • Ability to handle ad hoc requests to support the marketing team in development compelling marketing communications.
