It’s an exciting time to join our Cyber Security Team as we look to build a strong team to meet our new challenges. The University's Digital Transformation Programme is now into year 4 of a 5-year plan which has moved the University to a future-fit technology platform, providing flexibility and stability in our infrastructure and services. Cyber Security is a fundamental part of the programme ensuring the University’s digital business remains secure for the future.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and technically driven individual to work within the Cyber Team to provide a professional technical security support service to our colleagues and students. As a Cyber Security Officer, you will work within our talented Cyber Security and Information Governance team at a key time in delivering transformational change across the University in these areas.

Reporting to the Cyber Security Architect, you will play a fundamental part in managing and delivering changes in a number of Cyber Security domains including; Security & Risk Management, Communications & Network Security, Security Architecture & Design and Security Operations. You will be able to work with considerable autonomy in the role and can shape this role to affect change in an important way.

The University is currently making significant investment in cyber security in both people and technology. A number of significant cyber security projects are due to take place in 2022 including the implementation of a new SIEM solution, new network security solutions and the deployment of a security operations centre bringing together all of the University technology stacks. This role will be instrumental in the delivery of these projects and it is anticipated the successful candidate will spend a significant amount of their time with operational responsibility for the delivered solutions.
