The Graduate Internship Scheme is a collaboration between the University of Sunderland, a recent Graduate and a regional SME. The Scheme has been designed to benefit both the Graduate and the company, ensuring that the Graduate takes the first steps on the career ladder whilst the company benefits from the Graduates enthusiasm, expertise and up to date knowledge.  

The Internship is a full-time position.

The Organisation:

Rymote is a customer focussed company with deep technical and commercial expertise. We have evolved from being a company that provided complex network solutions for the education and business sectors to developing our own capability to deliver PON (Passive Optical Networking) solutions for the general consumer market. We have been able to secure contracts for numerous projects and have a significant pipeline for the future in a market where the UK government has committed to spend £5 billion over the next decade.

Due to the volume of work and internal business challenges faced, we’re looking to recruit for a role to assist in a technical capacity within the organisation.

The Role:

The role will be similar to a traditional dev-ops style role, with a focus on networking and network systems. 

Rymote are developing a customisable off the shelf product to help us manage our infrastructure and enhance the customer service experience. The system is designed to help us enrol and manage customers onto our system as well as manage our network and provide a support ticketing function. 

We also have challenges around the build and ongoing function of a CRM capability within the platform and we are looking for the role to deliver support and input into the operation and build of such a system.

Key tasks and responsibilities for the Intern:

  • Maintaining Knowledge levels and current/future systems
  • Reacting to and managing support tickets both internally and externally
  • Liaising with customers and colleagues in a professional and articulate manner
  • Optimising and enhancing CRM, management platform and internal systems and processes.
  • Identifying process improvements and coordinating systems upgrades with line manager.
  • Systems integration using 3rd party API’s.
