The Graduate Internship Scheme is a collaboration between the University of Sunderland, a recent Graduate and a regional SME. The Scheme has been designed to benefit both the Graduate and the company, ensuring that the Graduate takes the first steps on the career ladder whilst the company benefits from the Graduates enthusiasm, expertise and up to date knowledge.  


The Internship is a full time position.

The Organisation:

Dialect is a leading provider of customer service and other value-added services to the Fintech sector. 

Dialect is a fresh organisation servicing the needs of its client’s cardholders and supplying expert industry knowledge and insight to its clients. Based in the North East of England our client service teams are central to the overall service we offer our clients and their cardholders. The team is expanding and will continue to do so, giving the successful applicant an opportunity to really shape the future of the team. 

We are looking to support clients in a multilingual capacity with all major European languages covered along with Arabic for our clients in the Middle East. We currently operate 365 days a year between the hours of 8am and 8pm (times may vary based on weekday/weekend). We receive calls from cardholders, and we look to resolve a whole range of queries.



The Role:

We are looking for a Graduate who will be the first line of support for our clients and stakeholders. The successful candidate will embody our core values and provide a high level of customer service both verbally and via email alongside developing strong relationships with our customers and identifying new opportunities for the team to explore. 

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and ability to effectively manage and resolve disputes. Robust time management skills are a must, and an ability to manage your own workload and proactively identify and explore opportunities is essential to this role. Although not required, some technical knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office365 and computer hardware would be beneficial.

We are a growing SME and are looking for a Graduate who wants to grow with us. Whilst we are currently recruiting for a Customer Service Executive, there may be opportunities for you to explore the different departments that make up Dialect Communications. 

Key Tasks

  • Providing timely and effective first line support for our portfolio of clients.
  • Assisting cardholder queries.
  • Completion of tasks allocated by the Team Manager. 
  • Produce both verbal and written responses to cardholders’ queries. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities to cross/upsell services on behalf of a client.

Other Significant Role Requirements:

  • Supporting day to day business requirements.
  • Dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

Essential and Desirable Criteria


  • Excellent customer service skills, especially telephone manner, and ability to effectively manage and resolve disputes.
  • Some technical knowledge of Windows operating systems and computer hardware
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise and manage own workload without supervision.


  • Deliver World Class customer service to our cardholders and clients.
  • Ensure the service we deliver is aligned with agreed SLAs.
