The Graduate Internship Scheme is a collaboration between the University of Sunderland, a recent Graduate and a regional SME. The Scheme has been designed to benefit both the Graduate and the company, ensuring that the Graduate takes the first steps on the career ladder whilst the company benefits from the Graduates enthusiasm, expertise and up to date knowledge.  


The Internship is a full-time position.


The Organisation:

DSG Modular Limited is a lean SME comprising of one Director, one engineering manager, one engineering trainee and six shop floor operatives. We supply design and offsite manufacturing services to a wide range of blue-chip customers in the construction and engineering sectors.


DSG offers a complete pre-engineered solution and technical support from conception through to completion offering a flexible and practical approach for our clients. The modular prefabrication concept employed by DSG has been applied to significant building projects including hospitals, schools, colleges, hotels, office developments and residential buildings.


From design to supply, we surpass in quality, technical support, and cost control to deliver best practice solutions by continually implementing proven technologies and innovations throughout all aspects of our services.

The successful candidate in this exciting role will assist the senior management team throughout the operational areas of the business. It will comprise of an interesting mix of disciplines across the engineering and commercial functions; providing a variety of opportunities to learn and develop. 


The successful candidate will work directly with the Director and Engineering Manager to develop and work on growing the current business and in turn, their role and status within the business.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Assist the management team in the engineering and commercial functions.
  • Work with the management team to help develop sales and new business development.
  • Support the management team during customer meetings at each stage – pre and post contract award.
  • Visit construction sites to meet with project teams and view the work being installed.

This is a full-time position (37 hours). You must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship to qualify for this role and must be available to work full-time.
